How To Find Your Own Niche In Internet Marketing?

Knowing how to find your own niche in internet marketing is probably the most important first step in making money online.

Why do I say that?

Because everyone of us has our unique talent. It’s only when we make use of our unique talent can we excel in what we do.

Internet marketing is no different.

If you try to copy the way other people make money online, yet the method does not resonate with your natural self, you will not be able to excel in that area.

For example, some marketers make big bucks conducting seminars. My question to you is, do you like to do public speaking? If you don’t and you force yourself to do that, chances are you will not do well in it.

For me, I enjoy working with technical people, coming out with innovative systems and programs that can help people. I don’t mind spending hours with my programmer, trying to resolve some technical issues. (I know these are non-income generating activities and I should avoid them, but I enjoy the problem-solving process.) That’s me. But you may be different.

Another example. You know who Ewen Chia is right? Do you know what he enjoyed doing most before becoming a successful internet marketer? He liked to compose songs!! He could be spending nights composing songs. Now instead of composing songs, he put his talent into ‘composing’ sales letters! He likes to try out different kinds of sales letters and see which one converts better, something that I don’t enjoy doing! But if you talk PHP or HTML with him, he’ll frown.

Internet marketing is a huge industry and there’re a lot of ways through which you can use your talent.

If you are good in graphic, you can leverage on your strength and provide graphic services online. You can also upgrade your skills by learning HTML and create website templates. You can sell these templates, use them to build leads or simply create websites that make money.

If you enjoy writing, you can start a blog, create content websites and make money from Adsense or by selling affiliate products.

If you have a flair in selling, you can get freelancers to create products for you to sell. Your main focus would be to write powerful sales letters that convert!

“Kenneth, what if I’m good in nothing but I just want to make money online?”

Seriously, this is impossible. Everyone is born with a unique talent. If you haven’t found your talent, that’s because you’re too lazy to find it! No one can help you if you are lazy.

Here’s my 3 simple steps for you to start your online career:

1) Study how the internet marketing works (This would mean joining other people’s lists, spying on how other marketers make money online, reading ebooks, watching video tutorials, spending some money and possibly losing some money. This is a stage of confusion and most people give up at this stage.)

2) While studying, see how you can fit yourself into the game. In other words, you got to find out where you can best use your talent in.

3) Convert your talent into your own niche in the internet marketing game and deploy all the best practices of traffic generation to build traffic to your online business. (Spend most of your time, money and resources to generate traffic. Nothing can happen until you start having traffic to your website.)

Remember, there is no “best way” to make money online. As long as you enjoy the process, it would be the best way for you.

How To Write Effective Headlines That Make People Wanting To Read On And Respond

Learning how to write effective headlines that can capture your prospects’ attention is vitally important in advertising.

Why? Because in advertising, you don’t have the luxury to presell the prospects, like in the case of email marketing.

The only place where your prospects can grab a brief idea of your offer is from your headline. If your headline doesn’t resonate with them, you lose them. It’s as simple as that!

In this article, I’m going to share with you a simple method that you can use to write effective headlines that make people wanting to read on and respond. I hope this article can shed some light and give you some inspiration for your next headline.

When writing a headline, one question you should be asking yourself is “what is so unique about my offer that people must read it and take action now?”

If you can pinpoint the answer to this question, all you have to do is convey this uniqueness to your prospects in your headline. That’s how you write an effective headline.

A unique idea sells better than a product

I’ve seen many advertisers trying to capture leads by giving away free gift. Giving free gift works, especially if you give away videos and software (see my previous post on What Kind Of Internet Marketing Free Gift Will Entice People To Opt-in To Your List?). But if you want to boost the response further, you need to “package your free gift into a unique idea“.

For example, tell me which headline will pull better response:

It could be the same video but by adding an extra uniqueness to the headline, in this case is $3646 In The First Month, it gives your prospects one more reason why they should respond to your ad.

But wait, how about this headline?

Free Video Shows You Step By Step How To Make $3646 In The First Month Online

I’ve added one more uniqueness that further differentiates your offer from other offers out there.

How else can you make it more unique? How about this headline?

52 Minutes Full-Length FREE Video Shows You Step By Step How To Make $3646 In The First Month Online

What you are telling your audience is that it’s not just a normal video, it’s

1) a full-length video, not some kind of preview;
2) a step-by-step video, not some kind of introductory course;
3) capable of helping them to make $3646 in the first month.

Any one of these uniqueness may just hit the hot button of your prospects and as a result, they will read on to find out more about your offer.

Some gurus say long headline pulls better response than short headline. This is only true provided you are adding more uniqueness to your headline and not writing a bunch of nonsense!

I hope through this simple illustration, you can see how you can start off with a simple headline and slowly turn it into an effective headline that works.

Remember, the idea is to ask yourself this question, “what is so unique about my offer that people must read it and take action now?”

How To Increase Your Google Page Rank To PR4 For Free

Recently I accidentally discovered an interesting way to increase your Google Page Rank to PR4 for free. I’m going to tell you exactly what I did. But before you read on, promise me that you will not report me to Google!

Ok, I was just joking. It’s nothing unorthodox, illegal or unethical. In its simplicity, the method is called article marketing.

You see, I do a lot of article submissions to promote my websites. But for years, I have been making 1 mistake that I only realized recently. This 1 mistake interesting made one of my ‘hardly-promoted’ website a PR 4.

Here’s the full story:

If you have submitted articles to article directories before, you will know that there are two ways to add an anchor link in your article.

The first way is to add it in a resource box. This is the most common way.

But some directories do not have a resource box. For such directories, you will have to add your link within the article itself.

One such directory is Article Alley.

When you submit an article to Article Alley, there isn’t any resource box where you can add your anchor link to promote your website. So I usually add the link within the article itself.

But what I didn’t know FOR YEARS is that there is one standard resource box for every author and this resource box, if filled up, will appear in all the articles you’ve submitted. That’s where my mistake was made.

Several years back when I opened my account with Article Alley, I wrote something in that standard resource box. I also put one of my first websites as my website address. This was done in the author’s profile and as a newbie at that time, I was just obediently filling up all the blanks.

For your information, the website I’ve entered is a mini-site, with less than 5 pages in total and very little content. I’ve never promoted the website at all. It was one of those ‘great idea but never follow through’ websites.

What happened was Article Alley automatically inserted this website url to ALL the articles I’ve submitted. I have 100s of articles in Article Alley and all the articles contain a link to this ‘forgotten’ website.

Years past and now, this ‘forgotten’ website has a PR 4!!

As I’ve said, this website has not been promoted at all and the only link it has is from Article Alley, but it has 100s of links from Article Alley!

Now, does it mean the website got its PR 4 solely by having 100s of backlinks from 1 website?

Not quite true. Let me explain.

Article Alley is an article syndication network. Articles submitted to Article Alley will be distributed to many other websites. When I do a search for the backlinks to this ‘forgotten’ website, I found many links from other article directories.

That’s the power of article marketing!

A useful conclusion

One useful conclusion I can draw from this little incident is that when doing article marketing, you can have more than 1 link in your article. All your links will be counted by the search engine!

In my case, I typically have 3 different links in each article. That’s about the maximum that most article directories allow. But in the case of Article Alley, I have a total of 4 links. 3 within my article as usual and one in the standard resource box, which links to the ‘forgotten’ website.

The link to the ‘forgotten’ website is the last of the 4 links in the article.

The fact that this ‘forgotten’ website can get a PR 4 shows that all the links are counted, regardless of where the links are positioned.

This means if you have a few websites of the same theme, you can write one article and include 3 links to 3 different websites. That way, you are promoting 3 websites at the same time. Of course, you have to do it tactfully so that your article does not look like a link spam.

How To Get Things Right In Internet Marketing — The First Time

What if I tell you there is a surefire way to get things right in making money online, even if it is your first time in internet marketing?

I guess I’ve got your attention by now, but let me tell you the truth. Such way doesn’t exists. But something else does……

There is no surefire way to get things right in internet marketing, but there is a surefire way to succeed in internet marketing. The way is to “Stop Trying To Get Things Right And Start To Get Things Going!

Let me give you an example:

2 years ago when I decided to build Adsense websites using articles from plrpro, I was not sure if I was doing the right things when it comes to Search Engine Optimization. As you know, Search Engine Optimization is very important in such model. Without traffic from the search engine, you aren’t going to make money.

The first 6 months was the toughest months because I wasn’t making much money and I was doubting if I was doing the right things. But one thing I did right was I “Kept Going”.

Today, my Adsense income is nearing 3k a month and there is no sign that this income will stop increasing!

Did I get it right the first time? I didn’t. But I succeeded, in a small way, because I kept learning and kept building more Adsense websites.

What is the best way to make money online?

If you have not started making money, DON’T ASK THIS QUESTION!

Do you know that most internet marketing newbies fail because they haven’t even started?

They are looking for the ‘prefect’ way to make money online and they are forever looking!

Is Adsense the perfect way to make money online? I doubt so, but I don’t care as long as it’s making me money.

I tried to teach other people to make money from Adsense but those who gave up said that it’s too tedious. Some went into affiliate marketing, thinking that they can easily make money by posting some PPC ads but ended up losing more money.

There are always better ways to make money online. I do agree that you should always be on a look out for better ways to make money online.

But if you have not even earned a cent, you should just take an opportunity that is within your capability and make that opportunity work for you before trying other ways.

Remember, you don’t have to get it right the first time. You just have to get it going by keeping on learning and doing.

Success is doing the ‘boring’ things again and again

I may be stretching this topic a little too far but I need you to understand this principle in order for you to have the complete picture.

Do you know that even if you found the right way to make money online, you are still not likely to succeed online?

Any ‘right way’ to make money online will still require you to do one or more of the followings:

Build websites
Write articles
Post advertisements
Write sales letters
Deliver products
Find suppliers

If you look into any of these activities, only one word can describe them - “boring”!

That’s why I said success is doing the ‘boring’ things again and again. If you are not determined to keep doing the boring things again and again, you are not likely to succeed.

Can you now see why it is not so important to get things right? If you are determined to just get things going and going, regardless of how tedious and how boring they are, success will be evitable for you!
