Crypto-Adz is a banner exchange with a few extra features beyond the standard. At the core, as a banner exchange, it is a system allowing you to promote your advertising banners on other members' pages and web properties in return for promoting theirs on yours. By placing a snippet of HTML on your pages, with a free account you will earn 0.5 credits each time that page is viewed. The paid upgrade brings that ratio up to 1.0 credit per view. Your own banners will be shown at the cost of 1 credit.

The first attractive feature not found in all banner exchanges is the range of banner sizes supported. Crypto-Adz allows standard 468x60 banners, but also 125x125, 728x90 and 300x250 images. I have found the larger sizes to have click through rates up to 5 or 6 times higher than standard banners. To me, a banner exchange that doesn't support those larger sizes is somewhat crippled. Free accounts get up to 5 banners of each size, and the paid upgrade gives you up to 20.

Secondly, Crypto-Adz allows use of what they call a "raw" image instead of a snippet to collect credits. This means you can put a single image with a special Crypto-Adz src attribute inside an "a" tag with a special href attribute and collect half a credit whenever that image is shown. This can be important in two situations. It means you can earn credits even if your page is called by a browser with Ecmascript disabled - the normal HTML snippet depends on Ecmascript. The other case is that you can use banner slots on traffic exchanges and other ad platforms to earn credits. Just put your Crypto-Adz image src link in as the banner image link, and your Crypto-Adz src attribute as the target link.

Finally, for those interested in crypto money, Crypto-Adz allows you to run an Ecmascript based Monero miner in your browser. This will generate Monero in the Crypto-Adz Monero account, and they repay you for that in the form of banner credits. So if running crypto money miners appeals to you, this is a way to get banner advertising by doing that.

One irritation is that Crypto-Adz requires you to manually assign credits to your banners. This means you have to regularly log in and go through one screen for each banner size, and on that screen fill in credits and click a button for each banner.

Crypto-Adz is still fairly new and seems to have a small membership, which leads to the greatest weakness. The rate at which your banners will receive impressions is currently quite low. I am currently getting about 200 to 300 impressions per day on my 468x60 banners there. The click through rate on those banners has however been good, comparable to or a little higher than what I have seen on other banner exchanges.

I am hoping Crypto-Adz is able to attract a larger membership and therefore generate more impressions per day going forward. Meanwhile, it is one of the few banner exchanges offering 300x250 Medium Rectangle creatives, so I have been taking advantage of those impressions.
