As you probably know, LeadsLeap has just moved to a more powerful server.

And the reason to move the server now is because of the tool we’re launching today - LeadsLeap SlideSense

It’s a powerful advertising tool. You should have seen it in action by now.

Yes, it’s the little animation that bounce up from the bottom of this page.

What Can SlideSense Do?

If you run a blog or website, and you want to get people to opt-in to your list or simply look at your new offer, what do you do?

A typical trick is to setup a popup window. But as you know, popup is losing its effectiveness. More and more people are closing popups the moment they see it.

The solution? SlideSense.

You can use SlideSense for opt-in purpose or simply as a text ad. Here’s the demo:

Text-ad SlideSense | Opt-in SlideSense

Honestly, I didn’t come out with this idea. I first saw this animation on other people’s blog and I thought it was a great idea. So I got my programmer to design a similar one, adding some improvements here and there, and make it available to you.

(I later realized that similar tool is available for sale at USD67. Anyway, you don’t have to spend a dime. It’s free for LeadsLeap members! In fact, our version is much better in terms of browser compatibility, especially for internet explorer.)

Developing this tool was not easy. It took us 4 months to perfect every little detail. In fact, I threw away the first prototype because it was built on a specific js framework (for the non-techie, it means certain websites may have problem using this animation).

What you are seeing and using now is the second build. It was a complete rewrite of the first version.

I’m telling you all these because I hope that you can appreciate this tool.

Something To Brag About SlideSense

1) It’s easy to set up

Absolutely no script to install. If you can set up Google Adsense, you can set up SlideSense.

2) It’s highly customizable

Almost every component of SlideSense can be customized, from the image, text link , font, opt-in settings and even the animation speed.

You can use it on as many websites as you like, including your own Blogger blog!

How To Add SlideSense To Your Website?

To setup your own SlideSense is very easy.

1) Fill in the setup form here and generate the code.

2) Copy and paste the generated code into any page on your site or blog. For blog, you should put it in the template so that it appears on every page.

That’s all!

    Hello Kenneth,

    Impressed with the simplicity.
Have a look at it on the Jesty Publishing site.

My optin form is too involved to use so I had to settle for a simple text ad…

Not bad for a first effort.

    Thanks

    Hi John,

That’s a nice one. Just two comments: 1) You may want to change the font color to make the message stand out a bit more. 2) The background image look a bit ‘tall’, making the text look a bit decentralized. I would suggest you make the background image same size as the template. Good work!

Now the trick is going to be learning to use it for greatest impact. I tease people to visit my YouTube Channel instead of hitting them with yet another pitch, plus I hope to get more Leads Leap subs too if they like it. Thanks for adding the referral link on there for us!

    Hi Kenneth,

This is great , but i am not too techie & tried to put it on my blogspot blog but was not able to get it to work. at first i added it as a ‘gadget’(from Layout- page elements) that didn’t do it.
then i tried to add it into the template (layout - edit HTML)

but no matter where i tried to stick it in , i always got an error message.

can i get the exact steps to add it correctly. thanks

    Hi Marco,
You’ve probably put it in the wrong place. I went to your site and look at the source code. I can’t find the SlideSense code.
SlideSense is so simply that as long as you put the code ANYWHERE within your source code, it should appear.
Open a support ticket. We’ll help you.

    Thanks.

    Hi Kenneth,

You’ve done it again, another wonderful tool! Very easy to use. I had less problems putting this on my blog than I did setting up a pop-up. Now I can get rid of that annoying pop-up.

    Keep up the great work!
    Tracy

P.S. Thanks for the affiliate link too. It’s not for the page I would have preferred but I will take it :)

    Hi Kenneth,

This is a great tool. Thanks for giving it away!

I would like to recommend a preview feature so that we can preview the slide-in before going to the code screen. If I want to make changes and hit the back button, all the text I had entered is gone and I have to start over. Maybe I missed something?

Also, please visit the page below. The slide-in looked fine on the leadsleap site, but when I paste it into my WP blog it does not function correctly. I pasted it into my header file. Any suggestions?

You’ve done it correctly. The problem is likely to be due to some css settings in your blog that is conflicting with the animation.
I’ll look into this matter, but give me some time.
Update: Your css issue has been resolved.

    Hi Kenneth,

Thanks for the nice tool. I have 2 questions:

    1. Is our affiliate link embedded in the link “Powered By Leads Leap” which appears on the frame?

    2. Is the ad on the sliding frame a rotating ad, i.e. will I display other member’s ads on “my” frame all the time and will my ad be displayed on other members’ frames in exchange or is this my own “static” ad displaying all the time on my own frame… ? In other words, is this system an ad exchange or not? Personally I suppose it is not an ad exchange where members earn credits for ad displays, but please confirm this for me… Thanks.

    1. Yes. It’s your affiliate link.
    2. No. It’s solely for your own use. It’s not a rotating ad.

    Ron,
I pasted the code into my WP Main Index Template and it works great (as long as my browser is full screen). Might give that a try?

Only problem I have is that it only loads from the actual pages but not when you click through to a post. No big deal for me really probably better that way so it doesn’t annoy my readers. :)

You can see mine at http://tracywheeleronline.com/blog

    Hope you get it working,

    Hi Tracy,
If you want it to appear on every post, you should put the code in either the header or footer. If you only put the code in the main index template, it will only be shown in the home page of your blog.

    Hi Kenneth.

This is for you and also in response to RON 2 post above me.

I’m having problems with this script on my blog too. I’ve tried to add it to my blogs template header, footer and page php files. No luck. I even tried to create a widget. Still no luck.

I have an installed wordpress blog myself.

    Any suggestions?

You might try putting the code into the Main Page Template which is what I did and it works great. I just pasted the code at the bottom of the page under everything else (I am stupid when it comes to stuff like this but I guess I got lucky this time :))

    Good luck!

Technically, you can put the script in either header, footer or page. You can even put it at the every end of the footer page, after , i.e. after all the scripts, and it will still work. When it’s done, launch the page and view the source code. If it’s there, it’s correctly setup.
If it doesn’t show, open a ticket in our support, with the url of the page you’re trying to add into. If possible, keep the code in that page so that we can diagnose and try to make it work on your site specifically.

    Hi Kenneth

Another great free tool, thanks. One question. If prospect clicks on my link to the blog, sees the ‘Slidesense’, clicks on it & joins up - will they be in my downline?

The reason I ask is because when I clicked on it, the URL didn’t contain my referer ID.

    Neville.

Yes, as long as you enter your username in the setup form. Here’s a simple test. Click on the Powered By LeadsLeap link on your SlideSense > you’ll reach our promo page > scroll down to the bottom. You’ll see a line that says Recommended By YourUsername.

I am still having problems with loading it in my Google Blogspot. When I generate the code, it works OK on the Leadsleap site exactly as I created it. However, even though I posted the full HTML code to my Template, it does not work.

Will someone who has a google blogspot please advise me if he has encountered the same problem?

    Hi Kenneth,

Is my LeadsLeap aff link incorporated in the LeadsLeap SlideSense text links, i.e. “Want More Traffic? Get your FREE access to this POPULAR traffic system….” and “Powered By LeadsLeap”. Sorry for asking this twice but when I clicked those links, my affiliate id was not apparent in the new window that opened… I know very well that sometimes, affiliate link codes are not apparent in the browsers’ windows for security reasons and just wanted to know if that’s also the case with what I’ve just told you… Thanks

Gabriel, the SlideSense you see on this blog is “our” SlideSense. It is “neutral”, i.e. doesn’t come with anyone’s affiliate link. But if you’ve driven traffic to our blog via your affiliate link (such as http://www.leadsleap.com/blog/blar-blar/?r=YourUsername), if the traffic click on the SlideSense, you’ll still be the referral.
But if you set up SlideSense on your own website, that’s yours and you have full control over it.
Hope you understand what I mean.

    Hi Kenneth,

Thanks for reply. However, I don’t refer to the slide on “this” blog but to the one on “that” blog that appears after clicking on a link on the LL widget that I put on my site which is encoded with my affiliate ID. So, let’s resume:

    1. I put my “personalized” LL widget on my site

    2. an interested visitor click on a blog “title” on that widget (call it blog subject or blog “headline” or whatever… sorry, my English is not perfect but I hope you see what I mean)

    3. the visitor lands on “my blog” i.e. on a blog where I can see very well my affiliate ID which appears at the end of the URL of “that” blog. Well, that blog which is obviously personalized with my affiliate ID has ALSO the SlideSense at its bottom

The question was, if the visitor click on THAT SlideSense on “MY” blog, will he STILL be counted as my affiliate?? BECAUSE on the LL site that appears AFTER clicking on “THAT” SS on “MY” blog, I can see NO MORE my affiliate ID at the end of the URL. Hope you see what I mean… Thanks.

    2009-07-16 09:35:59

In short, the answer is yes.
To test, click a link from YOUR blog widget to OUR blog (you’ll see your id in the url as you noted). Then click on the SlideSense on OUR blog, either via the ad title or the powered by link. Scroll down to the bottom of the destination page (which should be either our homepage or the SS intro page), you will see a sentence that says something like “you are recommended by YourUsername”.
There’s just one exception - that person turns off cookies function in his browser. Cookies is on by default and it’s heavily used by many established websites, including Google.

    Hi Kenneth,

Thanks for reply. When I click the Ad Title I see “Recommended by “my username” as you said… However, that’s not the case with the “powered by” link… And, funny thing, it becomes the same when I click the Ad Title AFTER I click the “Powered by” link, i.e., there’s no more my username in “Recommended by…”. I have to admit that “Powered by” is a much less visible link though… :)
