Secret Affiliate Weapon 2: Leaked Content

Affiliate millionaire, Ewen Chia, will be launching his Secret Affiliate Weapon 2 on this coming Tuesday. He gave me a review copy. At first I though it was a revised version of his flagship product, Secret Affiliate Weapon 1, which I purchased many years back.

I was wrong.

The only similarity between the two is the price, $9.97. It’s under-priced for sure. That’s why the first version sold more than 50,000 copies.

Today I’m going to leak out some content taught in Secret Affiliate Weapon 2. (Please don’t tell Ewen!)

Leaked Content From Secret Affiliate Weapon 2

Most of us understand the importance of list building, but undervalue the power of list management.

What’s the difference?

List building is about getting more opt-ins. List management is about getting more response.

Most of us tend to believe that when someone is capable of making more sales, he must have a huge list. We simply refuse to believe that the person is better in list management and hence he can generate better response from a small list. Ewen Chia is one such person.

There is no doubt that Ewen has a huge list in internet marketing niche. But in other niches, his list is as small as many of us. Yet he can generate good response from his list. His secret? Better list management!

Without spilling all the beans, here’re some of his list management secrets extracted from Secret Affiliate Weapon 2:

1) “Before the title of every email message, you should always include your name.”

As explained by Ewen, this strategy allows the recipient to immediately recognize that the email has come from you. If you’ve established yourself as the authority in your niche, this simple tactic can dramatically increase the email open rate as well as the response.

We use a similar tactic in LeadsLeap. For example, all our newsletters will begin with [LeadsLeap] followed by the email subject. This is a double-edged sword - either your subscribers delete your emails immediately or they keep your emails because they know you provide values to them.

Note: Very few (and I really mean very few) marketers use this tactic. This tactic will lose its novelty if every marketer does the same trick. Hopefully that day will not come too soon. A few years back, we were taught to include recipient’s name in the email subject. Now almost every marketer is doing it, including spammers.

2) “You must always remember that you’re dealing with individuals who have exactly the same needs and desires as the next person.”

If you understand the essence of this tip, you’ll know why you are not getting response from your list.

Whenever you draft an email, always put yourself in the shoe of your readers and ask what is it that they want. How can you satisfy their needs and desires?

If you want to promote a product, are you focusing on selling the product benefits or you are focusing on how the product can help your readers achieve their needs and desires?

Just a shift in focus can make a huge difference in the response.

3) “You must know when and how to promote.”

How you create your autoresponder email series can make a drastic difference in the success of your promotion effort. According to Ewen, there are certain guidelines that you should follow.

First, you should keep pushing the initial product that you are promoting, for at least 6-10 email messages over a period of time, focusing on different benefits of the product.

Secondly, you need to demonstrate a degree of continuity and consistency in your email. This means you need to be consistent in your advice and not changing your mind in every email message. This will give people the clarity and confidence that they need to overcome their fear of buying. A mistake that many marketers make is promoting too many different things at one time, hence confused and intimidated the readers.

Ewen suggested in Secret Affiliate Weapon 2 that over the course of a year, you should recommend no more than 3 or 4 products in your email series. This means you’ll choose 3 or 4 products and create a 6-10 part email series for each of them. You’ll then start with the first product, run the full email series and then move on to the next one. When you’re done with all the 4 products, go back to the first one and start all over again.

Ok, I think I’ve shared enough. If I continue writing, Ewen may kill me.

If you want to learn the complete strategies on how Ewen generate 7 figure income from affiliate marketing, I suggest that you get Secret Affiliate Weapon 2.

How To Get Listed On First Page Of Google Under 24 Hours

Yesterday I received a demanding question in our support ticket. Here’s the question:

“I want to start to promote product, i have decided to start to promote your product but i want you to teach me free of charge step-by-step guide that i can take on how i can create blog/review/report for your products that will make the blog/review/report that i will create for your products be listed on the first page of google search engine under 24 hours. Please, include any details that can help me to achieve that very fast so that the blog/review/report that i will create for your products will be listed on the first page of google search engine very fast under 24 hours before any other person do so.”

Initially I didn’t want to reply this question because it’s really out of the scope of our support. But on second thought, I decided to write the answer in our blog because it will be useful to our members.

Now let’s get into our discussion today: “How to get your product review page listed on the first page of Google search engine under 24 hours”.

Step 1: Decide what keyword phrase you want to rank for

Anyone with some knowledge in SEO can easily rank first in Google for the keyword phrase “pineapple durian cookie” because there is virtually zero competition for this keyword phrase.

But what’s the point? No one will search for this phrase.

So the first step is to find a keyword phrase that is low in competition but with good demand. How to do it? Well, I wrote the step by step instruction in our blog some time back. Read long tail keyword research to find out how.

For product review, a common practice is to target the product name. For example, if you are promoting LeadsLeap, you can target keywords like “Leadsleap review, Leadsleap scam, Leadsleap proof, does LeadsLeap work” and the LeadsLeap.com version of the four.

Step 2: Find an authority site

Assuming you found your million dollar keyword phrase, if you want to get listed on the first page of Google within 24 hours, your webpage must be hosted on an authority site. An authority site is a well-established, high PR site with great contents. For example, LeadsLeap blog is well established and whenever I post a blog, that blog will usually be in the first page of Google within 24 hours.

If you don’t have an authority site, you can leverage on other authority sites that allows you to post articles to it. Some of the famous ones include Squidoo, Blogspot and Ezinearticles. I recommend Squidoo and Blogspot. Ezinearticles.com has many constraints and it’s difficult to expand in the future.

Step 3: Write an article

After finding an authority site, your next step is to write a review or article about the product you are going to promote and publish it on the authority site.

The article should meet the following criteria:

- It must be optimized for the keyword phrase you’re targeting. (This is called onpage optimization. I’m not going to talk about onpage optimization here. It’s very standard and you can easily pick up an ebook to learn about it.)
- It must be convincing. (You have to put on your marketing cap when writing the article.)
- It should provide proof that the product works.
- It should give some kind of bonuses for those who purchase from your link (Optional, depending on the product you’re promoting.).

Step 4: Write another article

Next, you have to quickly write another article. This article is for link building purpose. It should be different from your main article and should discuss something more general.

For example, if you are promoting LeadsLeap, you can write an article about “3 easy ways to generate leads for your business”. In the article or in the resource section of the article, you should provide a link back to the main article, using the target keyword phrase as the linking text.

Step 5: Publish the articles and build links

The last step is to publish both articles and build lots of links to the main article.

Say if you publish the main article in Squidoo, you can post the second article to Blogspot, Hubpages, Ezinearticles and other established article directories, linking the second article back to your main article in Squidoo. You can also bookmark your Squidoo page as well as the pages with your second article in social bookmarking sites such as Digg and Propeller.

You should be able to complete Step 1 to 5 within a day.

Assuming you complete all these within a day and sleep through the whole of the following day, on the 3rd day, that is 24 hours after you completed Step 1-5, your Squidoo page should be listed in Google. Whether it’s on the first page depends on how competitive your keyword phrase is. If you’ve chosen a long-tail keyword with low competition, your Squidoo page should be listed on the first page of Google.

(Optional) Step 6-999: Keep building links

What if your main review article is not listed on the first page of Google? Well, just keep building more links to that article. Search this blog for more link building strategies.

How To Create Randomized SlideSense On Every Page Load

I hope you have had a chance to try out our latest advertising tool - SlideSense. If not, check out this free tool here and then come back here to learn how to add more stunts to it.

So far, you can only use SlideSense to promote 1 offer at a time. If you want to promote another offer, you’ll have to create another SlideSense and replace it with the first one.

What if you have a few promotions to make? Or you want to create different version of SlideSense to see which one is more effective?

This is possible IF there is a way to create different SlideSense animations and randomly show them to your visitors, meaning to say, your regular visitors will see a different promotion whenever they visit your website.

(Special thanks to our member, Miriam, for suggesting this idea.)

I thought this is a great idea. After doing some research, I found a way to do it.

You’ll need to manually do some changes to the SlideSense code generated, but as I always say, it’s not rocket science.

Ok, here’s how to do it:

1) Generate your SlideSense code

First, you have to generate different versions of SlideSense for testing or different offers, using the standard SlideSense generator. It can be a mixture of text-ad and opt-in SlideSense.

Save the codes in a text file for later reference. Each code should look similar to this one:

<!– Start of LeadsLeap SlideSense Code –>
<div style=”position:absolute;top:-2000px”><img src=”http://www.leadsleap.com/slidesense/01left.png” /><img src=”http://www.leadsleap.com/slidesense/01filler.png” /></div>
<script language=”javascript”>
ss_options=
{

ss_speed: 1000,
ss_remove_click: true,
ss_direction: “bottom”,
ss_url: “http://www.leadsleap.com”,
ss_target: “_blank”,
ss_delay_start: 0,
ss_display: “every_visit”,
ss_color: “#EBEBEB”,
ss_html: “<span style=\”font-family:Arial;font-size:17px;color:#FFFFFF\”><b>Sample 1</b></span><br /><span style=\”font-family:Arial;font-size:14px;color:#FFFF00\”><b>This is another demo.</b></span>”,
ss_left_pic: “http://www.leadsleap.com/slidesense/01left.png”,
ss_background_url: “http://www.leadsleap.com/slidesense/01filler.png”,
username: “”
};
<script src=”http://www.leadsleap.com/slidesense/js/slidesense.js” type=”text/javascript”></script>
<!– End of LeadsLeap SlideSense Code –>

2) Combine the codes into one code

Next, you have to combine all the codes into one code using the template below:

<!– Start of LeadsLeap SlideSense Code –>
<div ….. >…..</div> // Refer to Step 2
<script language=”javascript”>
var howMany = 3;
var ss_rotate=new Array();
ss_rotate[0]=
{

  ss_….. // Refer to Step 3
};
ss_rotate[1]=
{

  ss_….. // Refer to Step 3
};
ss_rotate[2]=
{

  ss_….. // Refer to Step 3
};
var ss_options = ss_rotate[Math.round(Math.random()*howMany)];
</script>
<script src=”http://www.leadsleap.com/slidesense/js/slidesense.js” type=”text/javascript”></script>
<!– End of LeadsLeap SlideSense Code –>

Follow the following steps to combine the codes into one……

Step 1 - Customize the template

The template above is for rotating 3 SlideSense animations.

If you have 4 SlideSense animations, you’ll define howMany as 4 and you’ll have ss_rotate[0], ss_rotate[1], ss_rotate[2] and ss_rotate[3].

The rest of the code are unchanged. You can rotate any number of SlideSense animations.

Step 2 - Combine the <div ……> …. </div> line from all the codes, omitting repeated images.

The line <div ……> …. </div> is used to preload the images required to ensure smooth animation. If all your SlideSense animations use the same set of images, you’ll only have one line of <div ……> …. </div>. If all the animations use different set of images, you’ll need to include all the <div ……> …. </div>.

(Don’t understand? Don’t worry. When you see the example below, you should know what I mean.)

Step 3 - Copy and paste the parameters in the ss_options in EACH of the SlideSense code into ss_rotate[ ]

ss_rotate[ ] can be ss_rotate[0], ss_rotate[1] etc, depending on how many SlideSense animations you’re going to rotate. Take note that you always start with [0]. So if you have 3 animations, the first ss_options from the first animation will go into ss_rotate[0].

(Don’t understand again? Don’t worry. See the example of the final combined code below.)

After combining all the codes, the final code will look like this:

<!– Start of LeadsLeap SlideSense Code –>
<div style=”position:absolute;top:-2000px”><img src=”http://www.leadsleap.com/slidesense/01left.png” /><img src=”http://www.leadsleap.com/slidesense/01filler.png” /></div>
<div style=”position:absolute;top:-2000px”><img src=”http://www.leadsleap.com/slidesense/03left.png” /><img src=”http://www.leadsleap.com/slidesense/03filler.png” /></div>
<script language=”javascript”>
var howMany = 3;
var ss_rotate=new Array();
ss_rotate[0]=
{

ss_speed: 1000,
ss_remove_click: true,
ss_direction: “bottom”,
ss_url: “http://www.leadsleap.com”,
ss_target: “_blank”,
ss_delay_start: 0,
ss_display: “every_visit”,
ss_color: “#EBEBEB”,
ss_html: “<span style=\”font-family:Arial;font-size:17px;color:#FFFFFF\”><b>Sample 1</b></span><br /><span style=\”font-family:Arial;font-size:14px;color:#FFFF00\”><b>This is another demo.</b></span>”,
ss_left_pic: “http://www.leadsleap.com/slidesense/01left.png”,
ss_background_url: “http://www.leadsleap.com/slidesense/01filler.png”,
username: “”

};
ss_rotate[1]=
{

ss_speed: 1000,
ss_remove_click: true,
ss_direction: “bottom”,
ss_url: “http://www.leadsleap.com”,
ss_target: “_blank”,
ss_delay_start: 0,
ss_display: “every_visit”,
ss_color: “#EBEBEB”,
ss_html: “<span style=\”font-family:Arial;font-size:17px;color:#FFFFFF\”><b>Sample 2</b></span><br /><span style=\”font-family:Arial;font-size:14px;color:#FFFF00\”><b>This is another demo.</b></span>”,
ss_left_pic: “http://www.leadsleap.com/slidesense/03left.png”,
ss_background_url: “http://www.leadsleap.com/slidesense/03filler.png”,
username: “”

};
ss_rotate[2]=
{

ss_speed: 1000,
ss_remove_click: true,
ss_direction: “bottom”,
ss_url: “http://www.leadsleap.com”,
ss_target: “_blank”,
ss_delay_start: 0,
ss_display: “every_visit”,
ss_color: “#EBEBEB”,
ss_html: “<span style=\”font-family:Arial;font-size:17px;color:#FFFFFF\”><b>Sample 3</b></span><br /><span style=\”font-family:Arial;font-size:14px;color:#FFFF00\”><b>This is another demo.</b></span>”,
ss_left_pic: “http://www.leadsleap.com/slidesense/01left.png”,
ss_background_url: “http://www.leadsleap.com/slidesense/01filler.png”,
username: “”

};
var ss_options = ss_rotate[Math.round(Math.random()*howMany)];
</script>
<script src=”http://www.leadsleap.com/slidesense/js/slidesense.js” type=”text/javascript”></script>
<!– End of LeadsLeap SlideSense Code –>

That’s all. Just copy and paste the combined code to your webpage as usual and you will see different version of SlideSense being randomly loaded whenever you load that webpage.

Special note: If this is your first time using SlideSense, you should start with single SlideSense. You can try creating randomize SlideSense only when you are sure that single SlideSense works on your site.

Totally Free Domain Hosting Recommendation

Most free domain hosting services have some kinds of limitation. Some may not support certain scripting, some may not provide database and some may disable cron settings.

Recently, one of our members recommended a totally free domain hosting service. I helped him to set up our List Builder Script on the server and I’m truly impressed with this free domain hosting service.

Here’re what I like about this free domain hosting service:

1) It’s totally ads free.
2) It uses Cpanel website control panel (this is very important!)
3) It provides Awstat traffic stat (a useful tracking tool).
3) It provides unlimited mysql database, pop3 emails.
4) It supports most scripting, including php, cgi, perl etc.

In short, it has almost everything I need for domain hosting. If you are running a small site such as a simple squeeze page or content website, it should be good enough. Moreover, it’s totally free!

Pitfalls Of Using Free Domain Hosting

I recommend this free domain hosting service because of its excellent technical feature, but in general, I discourage beginners from using any free domain hosting because of 2 important reasons:

1) It will greatly reduce your chance of online success

If you ask me what is the most important factor in online success, I’ll tell you it’s your commitment.

Are you TRYING to make some money online or you MUST make money online?

Most beginners are not committed. If you are a newbie and you say you are 100% committed, you are lying. I’m quite sure about that!

Want to know how most beginners become committed? They become committed when their pockets hurt!

I wasn’t committed to personal success until I spent more than $30k attending all kinds of success seminars. I wasn’t committed to online success until I lost $50k in my offline business. I wasn’t committed to building Adsense websites until I subscribed to a monthly membership program.

Free domain hosting does not hurt your pocket at all, thus it will not add any pressure on you or increase your commitment to success in any way.

2) It will slow down your learning speed

Free domain hosting services can only afford to provide email support. This means whenever you have a server issue, you probably have to wait 1-2 hours (or even 12-24 hours) before you can get an answer.

Established hosting services provide instant chat support and/or telephone support. Imagine whenever you face a server issue, just launch a chat window or make a phone call and someone will be attending to your issue.

This is especially important for newbies with limited technical knowledge because they can get instant step by step guidance and ask more questions if they have doubts.

Nevertheless, if you know what you are doing and you’re looking for a totally free domain hosting, what I’ve recommended would be a good one in my opinion.

Update (28 Aug 2009): The site is down for more than 14 days. I tried to contact the admin. Initially they fixed problems and replied my emails. But now they seem to ignore my emails. I’ve given up hope. Another pitfall of using free domain hosting!

How To Make Money Online For Beginners

Most of the “How to make money online for beginners” articles on the web are either trying to sell a turnkey money making system or attempt to provide a huge list of a-z ways to make money online. But none of them have the answer I have in mind.

That’s why I decided to write my own version of how to make money online for beginners.

I started reading about how people made money online since 1999. Like many beginners, I opted-in to many gurus’ lists, reading their newsletters, trying and failing different opportunities.

At that time, information was pretty fragmented. Different gurus seem to have different ways to make money online. I was learning, trying, failing and confused.

Later I learnt that there is a technical term for this stage. It’s called initial perturbation. It happens whenever we are exposed to something new. It’s the beginning of a new learning process.

So my first ‘how to make money online’ advice for beginners is - be ready to learn, try, fail and get confused. It’s a natural process anyone will have to go through. During this time, you’re subconsciously building your industry knowledge, marketing senses and business acumen.

In 2005, I had an opportunity to help my employer at that time to build a simple company website. No one in the company knew about website building, so I volunteered to build one.

Did I know anything about website building? Not at all. I picked up a book called Frontpage For Dummies, read it over a weekend and spent the next one week building the company’s website after the office hours. With the basic website building skill, I started building all kinds of websites. That’s when the real game started.

So my second ‘how to make money online’ advice for beginners is - learn the technical stuff. If you believe in those gurus who tell you that you don’t need to know anything technical, well, good luck to you. All I can say is, the more competent you are technically, the more tricks you can do and the higher your chance of success.

Like many of you who have your own website, the next problem I had was how to promote my websites and bring traffic. That was when I seriously learnt about SEO, copywriting, advertising etc.

So my third ‘how to make money online’ advice for beginners is - practice purposeful learning. Purposeful learning means you only learn things that you need to use now. For example, if you build a content website, you need to learn and practice everything about SEO. If you build a squeeze page, you need to learn and practice everything about copywriting and advertising. Purposeful learning will make the learning process fun and you are more likely to appreciate and internalize what you’ve learnt.

Finally, my last ‘how to make money online’ advice for beginners is - treat yourself like an employee. Apart from thinking of new money making ideas and strategies, all other things about making money online is boring and repetitive. For example, website building is boring and repetitive. Traffic generation is also boring and repetitive. If you treat yourself like an employee, set datelines for yourself and push yourself to meet the datelines, you are more likely to complete the boring and repetitive tasks and eventually get the rewards you deserve.

In summary, here’s my advice on how to make money for beginners:
- Get over the initial perturbation
- Learn the technical stuff
- Practice purposeful learning
- Treat yourself like an employee

If you can follow through these four advices, there’s no reason why you can’t succeed.
